Jets Sure Up Backfield |
Breaking News.....
The NY Jets and the St. Louis Rams have agreed to a trade that will bring in HB Jonathan Dwyer to the NY Jets in exchange for a 2012 5th round dp and HB LeSean McCoy. This deal gives us a young foundation to build on behind Ronnie Brown, When inputting the attributes of Dwyer we discovered that only 6 other hbs had his particular set of rates or higher, with names like Peterson,Turner, and Barber among them.
Now heres a little background on Dwyer
Jonathan Dwyer was drafted in the 5th round of last years draft by the Rams, but before that dwyer was the star running back at GT for 3 seasons before opting to declare for the draft as a junior. In his 3 seasons at GT dwyer rushed for over 3,200yds and 15 tds, it doesn't sound that impressive until you realize that he averaged no less than 6.2 yards a carry in his collegiate career. Known for his bruising style of running dwyer came into a pass happy offense lead by former teammate Calvin Johnson his first year on campus and was limited, but with Calvin's departure dwyer was relied on more and never fumbled a single time in 500 carries. He will be a much welcomed addition to the NY Jets. |

Tempers Flare At Jet Camp |
HB Ronnie Brown and LB Joe Pawelek getting into a physical altercation
Breaking News....
In front of over a dozen media, and a few hundred Jets fans, rookie lb Joe Pawelek and hb Ronnie Brown tore into it. The fight broke out after the rookie in his own words "tapped" brown a little too hard and brown got up swinging. "Joe got a little too excited and forgot where he was and put a little too much enthusiasm into his hit on brown" Coach Mangini said. Luckily the fight was quickly broken up before any of the players could do something stupid and sustain an injury that would shelve either of them.
Once things cooled off or so we thought we caught up with Ronnie in the jets treatment facility and asked him what happened and he glared and what followed next left our news crew running for cover "F*** you,F*** him, I'm Ronnie F*****g Brown get out of my face." Hes certainly coming off as a spoiled brat, Perhaps whats why Miami dealt him to the Jets prior to the draft.
Joe Pawelek on the other hand just laughed the whole situation off and said "I was just out there having fun, I think i hurt his ego more than i did his body, if he can't take a little love tap in practice he might want to stop playing football." Since arriving in camp pawelek has quickly made two enemies in Bart Scott and Ronnie Brown, his defensive teammates love him for his passion. When asked about the intensity of the practice Coach Mangini said "Look, there's going to be situations like this all throughout camp. These guys are around each other 24/7 running the same plays over and over and the heat doesn't help, Its jut training camp."
Whether this will carry over to the season or fizzle out in camp remains to be seen. However, one things for sure the Jets have a different feel about them this year than last, and if they play how they're practicing a top 10 pick isn't in the cards this year. |

Jets waste no time getting their top 2 into camp |
LB Joe Pawelek
Pawelek was present on the first day of Mandatory Team OTA's he will be the starting MLB for the Jets when they open their 2011 campaign...When asked how he felt about beating out veteran Bart Scott for the job he said "Its how it should be, Bart has been nothing but disruptive toward me so far in training camp. I feel very disrespected, I worked hard to get to where i am today and dont feel like i've had anything handed to me." You could see the fire in his eyes grow said one assistant coach when talking about the young backer.
CB Walter Thurmond
Thurmond like Pawelek has signed a 6 year agreement to be with the NY Jets organization and was present on the first day of camp. The speedy corner looked sharp at one point chasing down a badly thrown deep ball by quarterback Mark Sanchez and hauling it in while straddling the sideline, his new teammates went nuts after seeing the play. We asked Thurmond what its like playing in NY to which he replied "Coming from a small town in Oregon to the global mecca of the world in NY is any eye opening experience, but i feel comfortable here with my team and feel really positive about the upcoming season.
Honorable Mentions
Zipp Duncan and A.J. Trump (no relation to the Donald) will also be retained. Zipp will make the move to RT where he will started and Trump will step in at center. |

Jets Draft Tracker |
1.2 MLB Joe Pawelek
He was clearly the best MLB in the entire draft and a clear target of ours along with OLB'S Coles and Davis who were sadly selected before we could make our 2nd pick in the top 10, Joe proved his worth in 3 All Star Games getting over 25tkls 3ints and a TD and cemented himself in our mind as one of the best players to be had in this draft.
1.8 CB Walter Thurmond
Seen above #2 Walter Thurmond was on our wish list but below the two linebackers but as both of our backers were taken and Thurmond easily the best corner in the draft was on the board we had to make a decision, We didn't want to trade Cromartie just to draft a corner. However, thats exactly what happened when the cards and steelers took our two guys ahead on our board we didn't hesitate to pull the trigger and get a cover corner for many years to come.
Analysis so far
We believe we have drafted 2 franchise cornerstones for our defense for many seasons to come and would put our early draft up against any team in the league in terms of talent. |

Jets Looking at Kicker ? Smoke Screen or Insanity |
With all the back room talking and smoke blowing the NY Jets are rumored to be working on deals for draft picks. However, GM Chapman strongly denied such rumors as rubbish and insist hes going to take Kicker Ryan Bailey with the 8th overall pick.
We tried to contact bailey to get his reaction to the story but it seems hes on a self enlightenment mission in Tibet to be at one with him true self. Perhaps before the Jets decide to spend money on a kicker they should be spending money on a psych evaluation as that would be a wiser way of spending their money. Now heres a little background below on the perspective pick.
Ryan "Swollen Mellon" Bailey the eldest son of TreeBear and YellowMonkey was raised in a hippie camp up until age 10 when the family was kicked out over a disagreement on how their son showed affection to the neighbors cat J-Lo. Bailey said he thought it was a woman and that he felt a little funny after he had eaten the mushrooms his mom had left in the fridge. Personally im a little disturbed at a kid who eats vegetables and proceeds to violate cats in the process. Thats all on this strange developing story for now, We'll let you know more as things progress. |
