Panthers get first win
Desipte throwing 3 early interceptions QB Jake Delhomme led the Panthers to the teams first win of the season. It started off shakey for Delhomme, when his first pass of the game was intercepted by Saints CB Tracy Porter. Along with Delhommes int's early the Panthers also lost HB DeAngelo Williams due to injury. The injury will sideline Williams for 3-5 weeks. When the offense did finally get into the endzone, the defense gave up a 79 yard TD on the first play of the Saints very next drive ending the scoring for the first half.

In the second half the Panthers defense stiffend and only allowed 10 points to the high powered Saints offense. The Panther offense came out running the ball with back-up HB Thomas Jones with good success. With the Saints defense playing the run QB Delhomme started connecting with his wideouts for big gains in the passing game.

Two players that really stepped up for the Panthers this week are the rookie WR's. Riley Cooper ended the game with 8 receptions for 152 yards and 2 TD's. Eric Decker also had a good day with 6 receptions for128 yards and 1 TD. Thomas Jones ended the day with 73 yards on 13 carries in relief for Williams. However the kicking woes continue, kicker Dan Carpenter missed 2 more extra points.

Next week the Panthers are at home against the 5-4 Giants, where they will try to win their second straight.

Panthers fall to 0-8
Comming onto week 9 of the AAO season the Panthers hopes were riding high. The hiring of a new GM and some roster moves had players and coaches thinking that their first win of the season would come against the Arizona Cardinals. Sadly, they were wrong.

The game was a defensive battle from the begining. The only offense in the whole first half was a Cardinals drive that ended in a field goal. The second half started off the same until midway through the third quarter. The Cardinals went on a 18 play drive that took eight and a half minutes off the clock and ended with another Neil Rackers field goal. The Panthers were finally able to start moving the ball when the coaching staff decided to start running the ball between the tackles instead of around the ends. Once given the chance HB's Williams and Jones were able to pound the ball on the ground and get Carolina into the red zone for the first time in the game. After reaching the red zone the Panthers tried throwing their way into the endzone but came up short. Faced with a fourth and goal from inside the five yard line the Panthers decided to kick a field goal in hopes they would get the ball back one more time. When the Panthers did get the ball back late in the fourth Jake Delhomme threw four incomplete pass turning the ball over to the Cardinals. Three kneel downs later and the game was over.

After the game coach Fox had this to say, "This was a huge loss. The coaches and players worked their tales off this week in preperation for this game in hopes of getting win number one of the season."

Next week the Panthers travle to New Orleans and take on the 5-3 Saints.

Panthers lose 7th straight
In week 8 of the AAO schedule the Panthers took on the NFC south leading Falcons. The game started off well for the Panthers scoring a TD on the opening drive, but when it came time to kick the extra point newly aquired kicker Dan Carpenter missed it.

Coach Fox is not pleased that his team can't even do the basic things that need to be done to win games." Kicking extra points are about as basic a thing that can be done on a football field, and when you can't do that your not going to win many games. Unfortunatly thats where we are at right now."

After that the game went back and forth with neither team taking control until the Falcons got their running game going in the 4th quarter. The punishing running of Michael Turner in the 4th quarter was the difference. When the Panther defense needed to stop him they couldn't. Thus allowing the Falcons to take all the time off the clock while driving downfield for the final field goal.

One bright spot for the Panthers this week was the play of both free agent pick-ups at the CB position. Dre' Bly and Charles Gordon both intecepted a pass from QB Matt Ryan. Gordon also recorded a sack and 1 deflection while not giving up any catches.

Next week the Panthers take on the Arizona Cardinals in a game that might determin who gets the first overall pick in the draft next offseason.

2.2 QB Dan LeFevour
Good quarter back, Decent arm strength but not so good aim.

2.5 WR Riley Cooper
Good Tall Wr with nice speed and accerlaction for his height.

3.2 LOLB Roddrick Muckelroy
He has decent Speed, but it makes up for it with his great Accerlation.

3.31 WR Eric Decker
Another tall WR. People wondering why Daniel Ansong picked another WR when has already good enogugh group of Wide Recievers. The Answer is that someone else picked for him while he was unavailable

6.28 CB Trevard Lindley
